Our Team

Glenn Smith
Managing Director

Glenn started at Smiths as a field service technician in 1988, when his father Bob owned the business.

He has worked as a technician, sales person, sales manager, and then returned from WA in 2005 as Managing Director and Owner.

Whilst in WA Glenn worked in Kodak owned outsourcing company, that specialised in large projects surrounding personalised document production and distribution as well as scanning and data capture from large volumes of paperwork for major government and corporate entities. That company was the largest scanning services bureau in the Southern Hemisphere.

Knowledge gained in this time allowed for the expansion to the business from the Riverina region to working with multi-national companies and distributing imaging hardware and software solutions throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Glenn is a mad West Coast Eagles fan (AFL) and in his spare time enjoys 4WD driving, Travel, Cooking, Camping and spending time with his daughters Emilly & Madison.

Glenn has a vision to lead our team to be the market leaders in our field, we will achieve this because we care about our clients and are passionate in our pursuit of ways to apply technology in business that delivers real results.

Phil Drage
Service Manager

Phil has been a part of the Smiths team since 1981 and has worked with the now owner Glenn Smith since he was a trainee back when Bob Smith owned and managed Smiths.

With over 30 year industry experience Phil manages and works alongside a team of field technicians to provide onsite service for all the products we supply. Phil has a vast technical experience with our complete range of hardware and software offerings as well as client management and service delivery.

Phil is a mad Richmond Tigers fan (AFL) and in his spare time enjoys, Camping, fishing, a quiet “froffie” with mates and spending time with wife Pam & son Jack.

Phil believes whole heartedly in the Toshiba Brand and enjoys working with such a market leading product.

Lyn Brown
Operations Manager

Lyn started at Smith’s in 2001 as our Stock Controller, then becoming our finance manager and is currently our Operations Manager.

Lyn ensures Smith’s runs like a well-oiled machine and with nearly 20 years in the industry has seen major changes like the black copier evolve to colour and then MFD’s, with the latest technology even including the Toshiba developed embedded applications.

In her spare time Lyn enjoys gardening, sewing, cooking, spending time her husband Rob & their kids, and most of all with her 2 grandson’s Ayden & Lachie.

Although looking to retire in the near future Lyn is very proud of the Smith’s Brand and is looking forward to continue to pass on all her knowledge and wisdom to the rest of the team.

Steph Farquhar
Solutions Manager

Steph started at Smith’s in 2018 as our Solutions Consultant learning the ropes in all things sales and technology solutions, she has since progressed to our Solutions/Account Manager looking after some our major print clients in the region.

Steph has excellent client relationship skills, attention to detail and laser like focus for identifying “Win Win” solutions for her clients.

In her spare time Steph enjoys Travel, Cooking, Boxfit & Experiencing the local Food & Wine scene with friends and family.

Steph believes customer relationships are the cornerstone of any good business and is excited to work for a Family Business with the same values.

Madison Smith
Sales Assistant

Madi started at Smith’s in 2020 as our newest Sales Assistant. As the third generation of the family to enter the business Madi is excited to learn the ropes in all things sales and technology solutions in both SOS and sister company Inotec.

Madi has excellent customer service skills and a professional and friendly manner that puts everyone at ease, these skills combined with her enthusiasm to learn, means we know she will do great things and look forward to seeing her grow within the business.

In her spare time Madi enjoys Cooking, Hiking, spending time with her partner Jay & friends and family. Madi believes customer service is the key to a successful business and loves that her Pop started a Business with the same values.

Andrew Lohde
Senior Technician

Andrew started at Smith’s in 2012 as a trainee technician after previously working as a poker machine engineer for many years.

Andrew has since progress to be a Senior Technician and is both highly skilled and diligent. His expertise as a hardware specialist on our full range of equipment is superb. Andrew’s ability to identify and trace even the most intermittent faults is enhanced by his determination to resolve issues on his first visit to a customer site with minimal interruption to their operation.

Andrew is a mad Richmond Tigers fan (AFL) and in his spare time he enjoys hiking, woodworking & spending time with friends & family. Andrew believes his job allows him to have a positive impact on our clients and he loves ensuring they can carry on business as usual in no time at all.

Mick Reid
Senior Technician

Mick started at Smith’s in 2004 as a trainee technician in our Wagga branch, with over 15 year’s experience with copiers he is one of our most knowledgeable senior technicians.

Mick is a specialist for all our MFD products and preventative maintenance. He is a man of few words but he works tirelessly to ensure customer systems produce quality outputs and achieve the maximum uptime possible. 

In his spare time Mick enjoys listening to music, playing Play Station & Guitar, having a “froffie” with mates and spending valuable time with his daughter Layla.

Mick loves a challenge and believes no job is too hard to fix.

Ryan Walch
Junior Technician

Ryan joined our Smith’s team in 2020 as our latest trainee, after working in previous technical positions and owning his own business.

Ryan brings a vast experience with electronic and electro mechanical service and repairs, as a part owner of a local electronic repairs and servicing business. Ryan has a diverse knowledge set for both technical diagnosis and repairs and achieving desired customer outcomes.

In his spare time Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, especially his 5 children, Ryan really loves being an active member of the local community. Ryan is enjoying the variety our industry brings and believes in doing things right the first time.

Jack Petts
IMAGING SPECIALIST TECHNICIAN

Jack joined our team in 2019 after previously working as a ENG camera operator for Win TV for many years.

Jack primarily works with our high level scanning equipment for sister company InoTec, with a technical aptitude and a knack for problem solving Jack has expanded his technical skills in an ever growing market and has fast become an asset to our team and our resident Imaging Specialist.

In his spare time Jack enjoys Reading & Spending time with his wife Allison & their sons Elijah & Flynn. Jack understands the importance of a happy customer and always goes above and beyond for our clients.

Tamara Wright
Reception/Administration

Tamara joined the SOS team in 2018, wanting to return to the work force after a period of home duties.

Tamara loves organisation and enjoys being the central contact point for our client’s needs, She always ensures our clients are met with a smile on her face/in her voice and will go above and beyond to ensure the client’s needs are met.

In her spare time Tamara enjoys reading, running her Photo booth business & spending time with her husband Craig & their 3 kids. Tamara believes customer service is paramount and that happiness is contagious, why not do things with a smile on your face?

Katrina Baumann
Service Co-Ordinator

Kat joined the SOS team in 2019 from an administration team at a local Retail business.

Kat brings a wealth of knowledge from her time in Admin & Retail with a good understanding of Customer service, she has strong organisational skills and enjoys the challenge her role as service co-ordinator can bring.

Kat is a mad Essendon Bombers Fan (AFL) when she is not watching them she enjoys walking the dog, catching up with friends and spending time with her 2 kids Ash & Liv.

Kat believes team work is paramount for a successful business and always contributes 110%.
